In this tutorial we will demonstrate how to interact with your most recent users using push notifications, with our powerful segmentation tool. We are going to create a weekly notification for the last week new users.
- Compose your message
- Create a new segment
- Manage your notification and view its performance
Compose your message
Choose your app, go to the Main tab and compose your message with all of your relevant features as seen in Sending notifications, and choose By Segments in the To Whom? section:
Create a new segment
After selecting the By Segments radio button, you need to create the segment that will target the new users of your app.
Set a name and description
Set a name that will identify this segment, and a description that will help to remember where is this segment targeting to later on.
Choose the First Install tag
Click in Choose Tag and select the First Install tag, this tag is of Date type, and is created automatically by the system once you upload the application. Every device that uses our mobile SDK will automatically register for this tag once installing or upgrading to the first version that uses our mobile SDK.
Enter your time window
Choose how do you want the segment to apply for this tag, Here we chose the segment to apply for all the devices which installed the app Within the last 7 days. Click Save once you are done.
Set a scheduling rule for the notification
as seen on Scheduling your notifications, you can set select from a variety of scheduling rules. Here we are going to choose a weekly notification, so that combining it with our segment that captures the last week's new users, will make sure every new user receives the notification!
We always recommend to check the According to device's time zone check box, so all users could receive the notification in the same local time according to their device timezone.
Once done, click on Click To Push It!
Now you have successfully created the notification.
Manage your notification and view its performance
You can always view the notification you have created in the Running Notifications section, and pause or reactivate it.
You can view the performance in the Statistics tab as well.
